"Cha-damari" refers to the small depression at the bottom of a tea bowl, designed to allow you to enjoy the beauty of the tea down to the very last drop. Because the bottom is slightly recessed, the tips of the tea whisk naturally gather there, preventing the matcha from scattering and making it easier to whisk a fine, creamy foam.
